If you have seen our Instastories, I have shared how much I love Bella’s curly hair. It’s beyond beautiful, but I have to be honest, it’s very hard to maintain. If you are a curly hair mom you know exactly why. It takes me close to 30 minutes to fully untangle her hair, and let’s not talk about the humidity in Texas. That’s why the JOHNSON’S® Curl-Defining Kids’ Hair Gift Pack is perfect. Click on the image below to see more information about the product and to purchase it at Walmart. Also, you can find these products at Walmart in the Baby Needs section of Personal Care aisle.
Some days it’s just easier for me to blow-dry it straight, but she, on the other hand, hates it. She often says she wants to be like Moana. So, we work around it and just let her be Moana some days.
I’m making the effort to show her just how special she is just as she is, and for that, I’ve figured out 3 steps, per se, of how we fix her hair to share it’s beauty and sharing 3 easy hairstyles you can do on the run with your curly hair gal.
- Use JOHNSON’S® Curl-Defining Kids’ Hair Gift Pack – I’m going to be very honest here, this stuff is amazing. It does not only smell delicious but leaves my girl’s hair so soft. For a while, I used my conditioner on Bella’s hair hoping it would keep it smooth and I’m happy to say we no longer need it. I even squeeze some of the leave-in conditioner in a spray bottle and add water when her curls are too run down by the brush or my hands.
- Detangle hair while in the bathtub. I can tell the difference instantly when I do this. The JOHNSON’S® Curl-Defining Kids’ Hair Gift Pack comes with an amazing brush with wide and hard teeth!
- Find a show or an app to keep them entertained. I remember the days my mom would brush my hair and I was supposed to stay still but I would cry the entire time. I still have coarse, curly hair and it’s still a pain to put it up in a ponytail.
If these 3 steps are done, I guarantee you it will be a breeze brushing your curly child’s hair.
Now, for the hairstyles.
These are what I call simple, get me out of crunch hairstyles and my babe loves them too. Letting her Moana side run loose.
Cute clip or bow. This is by far the easiest and the one I love the most. I love seeing her curly hair run wild.
Side Braid. For Bella, her front hairs are the hardest to keep “calm” – those I put in a braid and call it a day. If she is feeling extra fancy we add a huge bow at the bottom.
Two side twist. This is usually when she has a few hairs that won’t cooperate. Usually, day 2 and her top hairs are out-of-control. I get those and twist them and leave all the gorgeous curls to hang loose. You can do a top twist as well!
Lastly, if her hair just gets too frizzy from the humidity, we do a ponytail with a braid on it. No brushing her curls required. Just part it as it naturally does and call it a day.
The thing about all of these is to make it easy for us moms and to celebrate our kids in every sense of the world. I love that JOHNSON’S® is allowing me, as a mom to enjoy these. To enjoy those moments more and let my child just be that a child, one who loves to leave her hair down and be barefoot. One day I will miss these days!
I hope you enjoyed these tips and hairstyles and remember you can find and gift the JOHNSON’S® Gift Sets at your local Walmart while supplies last! Learn more about JOHNSON’S® Kids Hair Care here!
