Guess what? This year I turn 30, like in a month next year. ha
I have no idea how that happened I still think I’m 21.
I became a mom in my 20’s, owned two cars, two homes and became a marriage pastor, amongst a few other things, but honestly, my 20s were the best.
Aside from the excitement, I’m honestly a little scared. Since I was little I always heard that after 30 everything is different. Perspective changes and even though it’s just a number is a very important number.
Your 30s are known as the best years, but it’s when you HAVE to start taking care of yourself. They are the start, literary ” Your body feels it” age. A tough day, a hard workout and no sleeping. I personally think is hilarious but then again I’m not there yet,(haha) but in all seriousness, I’m taking 30s as my GOLDEN years! Making them the best years yet. Making them “MY” years.
What do I mean? I’ve made it my ultimate goal to take care of myself in my 30s. I want them to be the years of me. Where I better myself in many ways. Where I decide to finally, wash my face, put aging creams on and where I take my vitamins seriously. Here is why?
My 2 pregnancies ended with two C-sections. Two very different pregnancies with two very different C-sections, but in both cases my body suffered a lot. After Camilla’s, my Csection opened up 3 times, my teeth suffered big time and my bald spots were hard to miss, and this are only the things that were visible. Just take a sec and think about that. What about what’s inside of us that’s not seen?! EEKK
So, what changes am I making?
- Finally setting an exercise routine. I have always used time as my excuse, but now my girls are a little older, I have to make time for it. Bella is now in school full time and Cami is taking regular naps. I still think home is the place for me but I will be taking advantage when my husband is home to run when possible.
- Putting sunscreen on. YES. Long are the years of tanning. It’s time I take charge and put my skin first. That includes buying aging creams and actually putting them on. I will talk more about this in another post as I research what works for my skin.
- Take my calcium. When I was talking to my husband about this, he mentioned that when he turned 30 he was afraid of breaking a bone when he was playing soccer. And guess what? he did! He broke his finger right around 30 playing soccer and I found Viactiv for that. I started taking Viactiv a few weeks before giving birth and not taking it at the beginning is one of my many regrets. Viactiv chews have 100% of our daily value of calcium plus vitamin d and vitamin k. Their bone-strengthening formula helps our bodies from the inside out!
Now tell me are you in your 30s? What were your thoughts?
