This year, so far, has definitely been one for the history books! We have fought so much for our families, healthcare workers, and for our nation’s health. We have fought a different way, instead of war, with prayers, in unity, and more than anything TOGETHER.
As tough as these last few weeks have been for all of us, I’m happy to say we have learned to fight together instead of each other. We have learned, really learned that health, love and unity is all we really need in life. Whatever it was we did before, our lives will never be the same and to some extent, I’m excited to see what’s to come.
With that said, this Friday (May 8) we are celebrating the fight, the fight our ancestors had in them and the liberties we now enjoy thanks to them. We celebrate 75th anniversary of VE Day – WWII victory over Europe and the Lone Star Flight Museum is doing so with a beautiful event for the entire family to enjoy.
The flight over will begin at 11:45 and the best part is you can see it from your own backyard and make a beautiful afternoon of it.
Here is a list of items we will have ready for Friday:
- Mat to lay on and enjoy the show.
- Sunglasses and sunscreen. Houston’s heat is no joke.
- Snacks, and tons of them. We will be making sandwiches and this cute little airplane propellers I found online. So smart right! (most of us have all of these items at home already)
- Paper. Tons of paper to make airplanes. I remember this was one of my favorite activities as a child. We use to color on the paper and then we would fold it and see those beautiful colors fly! Here is a little video of the folding. (if you are anything like me this would help a lot) The museum’s websites even has a very cool template.Click here.
- Lastly lot’s of water.
Having all of this on hand will help you enjoy the show the fullest and believe me it will keep your little ones as busy before the airplanes start flying over your area.
