I have been wanting to write this post so such a long time and I had not made the time to but I’m excited to finally share it.
When we moved to our house one of the first things I mentioned to Lester was my desire to open up our kitchen.
The thing about buying an older home is that everything has its own room, no open concept whatsoever, and little by little we have been changing it and literally knocking walls down!
We decided to gift this to each other as our anniversary gift and I absolutely loved it with the knocking down the wall we also changed our countertops. Our countertop was 3 years old as the person that flipped our kitchen before we bought it had replaced them, and they were beautiful but they were so hard to maintain clean and stain free.
Now here is MY opinion:
Marble is extremely expensive, beautiful yet very expensive, and very delicate. It stains with lemon, coffee orange juice, and the list goes on. Heat and cold stuff, water, and many many more. I can’t tell you how many little stains ours had. They were not extremely visible but we saw them and hated it and after trying to fix them for a few weeks we decided it was time to replace it.
We chose quartz. This was such an easy decision. The hard pat was finding one we both loved. It took us 2 weeks visiting a few places, checking the colors and finally decided on one with both loved.
As for the open concept, it’s life-changing. The entire room looks so different and just what we imagined.
But enough talking here is the before and after!
