Happy New Year!
Hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Years’.
Ours was a dream! Lester had some time off and it was just what our little family needed. We took a small trip to the Silos at Magnolia and just spent time together, which is just exactly what we needed!
This trip left me with one idea, one feeling. The feeling of being present! Of being together and nothing in the world mattered!
So, as we ring 2021 I want PRESENT to be my word of the year.
I want to be present in whatever I’m doing. Whatever I’m working on I want to dedicate my full attention! As much as I love multi-tasking and it’s really my way of life I don’t want to be a shadow in my family’s life, with my friends, and with work!
My work requires me to be on my phone and many times I’m doing a million and one thing at the same time which causes a lot of mind blur!
One thing that struck a cord with me was last year as we were leaving my mom’s house it was about 4-5pm and as I drove home I saw many parents on the sidewalks playing with their kids, watching movies, and even going on bike rides!
Our family bought 2 bikes and we spent a great deal outdoors riding them as if time had suddenly stopped and our days had more hours!
I honestly believe we can do that this, make time for our sweet babies and husbands!
So let’s make 2021 the year of being present and fully dedicating our hearts and soul to those around us!
What’s your word for this year?
